Vice-President C P Radhakrishnan and several Union Ministers, including Jagat Prakash Nadda, G Kishan Reddy and Ram Mohan Naidu, today attended Pongal celebrations organised at the residence of Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting and Parliamentary Affairs, Dr L Murugan.
In a social media post, the Vice President extended his greetings to the citizens. He said that the festival reflects India’s rich cultural heritage, gratitude to nature, and the spirit of harmony and togetherness. Talking to the media, Mr Nadda said that as the nation celebrates Pongal, Makar Sankranti and other festivals by various names across the country, this is a time of joy and celebration, with new energy, new strength, and new enthusiasm.
Meanwhile, Mr Reddy highlighted the festival as a celebration of agriculture and nature. Mr Naidu said that the Prime Minister respects and celebrates all the festivals of the country. He further added that it is important for the people of the nation to stay united in the culture.
