Vice Admiral B Sivakumar assumed charge as the 40th Chief of Materiel today. The Ministry of Defence said that Mr Sivakumar has previously served onboard frontline warships, the Indian Navy ships Ranjit, Kirpan and Akshay, and has commanded the premier electrical training base, INS Valsura.

 

 

 

It further said that the officer will receive his baton from the former Vice Admiral Kiran Deshmukh.  The Ministry further informed that Mr Sivakumar has been awarded the Vishisht Seva Medal and Ati Vishisht Seva Medal for his distinguished service to the nation.
