‘Vande Mataram Coastal Cyclothon’ awareness rally organised by Central Industrial Security Force(CISF) reached Puducherry and resumed its onward journey today. NCC Group Commander of Puducherry Colonel Ashish Tiwari flagged off the Puducherry leg of the rally from Beach Road near the Gandhi Statue.
The cyclothon is being organised to create awareness on coastal security and to promote national unity and community participation. A total of 64 CISF personnel, including 33 women, are taking part in the 25-day expedition, covering a distance of 6,553 kilometres along the coastline. From Puducherry, the team is proceeding to Cuddalore.
