In Jammu and Kashmir, the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board has undertaken the renovation and upgradation of Government Schools in Reasi and Udhampur districts to restore facilities affected by adverse weather conditions. The renovation works are now in their final stages and will help create a better learning environment for students while also strengthening the overall educational infrastructure in the region.
A total of 20 Government Schools in Reasi and one in Udhampur districts were identified by the Shrine Board for renovation under the social support initiative after a detailed assessment of damages caused by adverse weather conditions. Special focus was given to safety, hygiene and child-friendly spaces.
Chief Executive Officer ofShri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board Sachin Kumar Vaishya said that the renovation of Government Schools in the region was carried out as per the directions of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. He said the work will be completed very soon, and these efforts have greatly improved the look, usefulness and overall condition of the school buildings.
