In Uttarakhand, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for heavy rain at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Dehradun and Tehri districts today. During this time, there is a possibility of lightning and heavy showers with thunder in some parts of the hilly areas of the state. Given the weather forecast, all schools from Class 1 to 12 and Anganwadi centres remained closed today in the Tehri district.

Meanwhile, in Pithoragarh district, the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra route has been blocked due to a rockfall near Lamari. The Border Roads Organisation is working to restore the route.
