In Uttarakhand, Har Dwar, Dastak campaign will commence across the state today as part of Census 2027. Under the drive, enumerators will visit every household to collect data on 33 specific parameters regarding amenities and assets. The Ministry of Home Affairs has appointed 20,859 enumerators and 3,670 supervisors to execute the operations in Uttarakhand. These personnel have undergone training in 555 batches, including practical sessions. This exercise marks the first time in the history of the country that the census is being conducted through a completely mobile app-based digital system. The exercise will conclude on 24th of next month.
Meanwhile, more than 62,000 citizens in Uttarakhand completed digital self-enumeration for the first phase of Census 2027 between 10th and 23rd of April, Director at the Directorate of Census Operations in Ministry of Home Affairs, Iva Asheesh Srivastava said, the Dehradun district led the state with 10,884 residents participating in the digital process.
