The Uttarakhand government has intensified preparations to make tourism and religious activities in the state safer, more organised, and more attractive. To promote winter tourism, Winter Games are being organised across the state.
At the same time, after the end of the winter season, extensive administrative planning is underway for the commencement of the world-famous Char Dham Yatra. State Tourism and Religious Affairs Minister Satpal Maharaj said that the government’s objective is to provide pilgrims and tourists with better facilities along with a strong sense of security. He informed that a new initiative will be introduced during this year’s Char Dham Yatra, under which an insurance facility will be provided to pilgrims.
Speaking about the upcoming Kumbh Mela in Haridwar, the Minister said that all necessary preparations will be completed well in time. He added that special emphasis is being laid on improving railway, air connectivity, and traffic management to ensure convenience for devotees.
