Uttarakhand announces winter closing dates for Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri temples

On the occasion of Vijayadashami, the closing dates for the four holy shrines in Uttarakhand were announced today. Akashvani correspondent reports that this year, the Kedarnath Temple will close for the winter season on October 23rd, and Badrinath Dham on November 25th. 
The closing dates for the four sacred shrines in the state were announced today. President of the Shri Badri-Kedar Temple Committee, Hemant Dwivedi, stated that the Kedarnath Temple will be closed to devotees on the auspicious occasion of Bhaiya Dooj.
According to the official announcement, the Gangotri Temple, located in the Uttarkashi district, will be closed for the winter on October 22nd, while the Yamunotri Temple will be closed on October 23rd. After the portals are closed, devotees will be able to offer prayers at Mukhwa for Gangotri and Kharsali for Yamunotri for the next six months.
Meanwhile, the Char Dham Yatra is continuing with great enthusiasm in its final phase. Since April 30th this year, more than 4.5 million devotees have visited the Char Dham shrines.
