In Uttar Pradesh, Eid is being celebrated across the state with traditional fervour and gaiety. Thousands of worshippers have gathered in mosques and Eidgahs for special prayers, marking the culmination of the holy month of Ramadan.
In old city areas, the markets and shops were open for the whole night, where people did last-minute purchasing for Eid celebrations. Since the weather has changed in many parts of the state, special arrangements of tents and plastic covers are being made for the devotees to offer the prayers peacefully.
Special Namaaz will be held in many places like Lucknow, Agra, Kanpur, Bijnore, Moradabad, Rampur and Kanpur where members of the muslim community prayed for peace and prosperity.
In the state capital, the prayers will be led by Maulana Rasheed Firangi Mahal at the Aishbagh Eidgah around 10 am. Police have rolled out an extensive security arrangement ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr to ensure safe and peaceful celebrations across the state.
Tight security arrangements are in place at the sensitive areas. The police are keeping extra vigil in cities like Sambhal, Moradabad, Saharanpur, Azamgarh, Mau and Bareilly. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has congratulated people and said that on the occasion of Eid, everyone should take a pledge to further strengthen harmony and peace.
