UT of Ladakh, DIET & Leh organise Poster Making & Painting Competition on theme “Adolescence Health” under NPEP

The Union Territory of Ladakh, District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Leh, has organised a Poster Making and Painting Competition on the theme “Adolescence Health” under the National Population Education Programme (NPEP)

The event conducted at the Lingshed Winter Residential Hostel saw the enthusiastic participation of students from various schools, which creates awareness among adolescents about their physical, emotional, and psychological changes during this period in their lives and promotes healthy habits, positive thinking, and responsible behaviour within them.

Students actively participated in the poster-making and painting competition, creatively expressing their understanding of adolescent health, hygiene, mental well-being, nutrition, and the importance of guidance and counselling.

Alongside the competition, an awareness programme on the stages of adolescence was talked about by Clinical Psychologist Ms Stanzin Tseang. She sensitised students on emotional changes, stress management, peer pressure, self-confidence, and the importance of seeking guidance from teachers and parents, particularly during this stage in their lives.

The programme aimed to empower adolescents with correct knowledge and to remove myths and misconceptions related to this important transitional phase of life.

The UT Ladakh Education Department is committed to promoting holistic education and ensuring the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of students through such meaningful initiatives under the National Population Education Programme.
