In Ladakh, the UT administration has initiated confidence-building measures with the aim of bridging the gap between administration and the civil society and to restore normalcy and peace in the recently violent Leh district.
A Peace Coordination Meeting of all the stakeholders of Ladakh was convened by the Chief Secretary of UT, Dr Pawan Kotwal. It was attended by leaders of APex Body, different Community and Religious Leaders, Chief Executive Councillor of Leh Hill Council and members of Political Parties. To normalise the situation, UT administration yesterday also restored the Mobile Data Services, which have been under suspension since 26 of last month.

He further reaffirmed to the leaders that the Government of India has already addressed the issues of domicile and job reservation in the interest of the people of Ladakh and also expressed hope that the remaining demands would also be resolved soon to restore lasting peace and harmony.
