United States Under Secretary of War for Policy, Elbridge Colby, today said that the United States views India as a key partner in maintaining a favourable balance of power in the Indo-Pacific. Addressing a Special Session in New Delhi, Mr Colby highlighted that India’s decisions will have a profound impact on the future of the region and the global strategic landscape. The Under Secretary said that the United States aims to build a partnership with India that will form critical pillars for a stable and resilient balance of power in the region. He underscored that cooperation in the defence sector remains central to this objective. Mr Colby said the United States is committed to enhancing collaboration in areas such as long-range precision fires, resilient logistics, maritime domain awareness, and anti-submarine warfare. He added that such cooperation will not only strengthen India’s defence capabilities but also support the development of a more robust network of defence production, requiring sustained effort and innovation from both sides.
