US stocks ended higher after mostly in-line US inflation data

US stocks ended higher on Friday after mostly in-line US inflation data, but the three major indices still posted weekly losses. According to the Commerce Department’s personal consumption expenditures price index report, Inflation rose by 0.3 per cent for the month, putting the annual headline inflation rate at 2.7 per cent. At wall street, the Dow Jones Industrial Average increased over 0.6 per cent to end at 46,247, the S&P 500 climbed almost 0.6 per cent to end at 6 thousand 644 and the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite Index settled above 0.4 per cent up to close at 22,484. For the week, the Nasdaq lost over 0.6 per cent, the S&P 500 decreased 0.3 per cent and the Dow dipped over 0.1 per cent.
