US stocks closed higher yesterday, with all major indices reaching record levels during intraday trading. The gain was fueled by signs of easing trade tensions between the United States and China, along with strong gains in technology shares.
Investors also looked ahead to the upcoming Federal Reserve policy decision. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite Index climbed 0.8 per cent, the Dow Jones Industrial Average added more than 0.3 per cent, and the S&P 500 increased over 0.2 per cent.
