US Secures $57 Billion Energy Deals with Indo-Pacific Partners

The United States has secured energy agreements worth around 57 billion dollars with Indo-Pacific partners, aimed at strengthening regional energy security. The deals, finalised during the first Indo-Pacific energy security conference held in Japan. In an interview with a news agency, US Interior Secretary Doug Burgum said the initiative is part of President Donald Trump’s policy to expand energy exports to allied nations, reducing their dependence on uncertain or politically sensitive sources.

Among key agreements is a 10-billion-dollar LNG deal involving US-based Venture Global and a major South Korean firm. The United States said the agreements will not only boost its economy and create jobs, but also provide reliable and affordable energy supplies to partner countries in the Indo-Pacific region.

The conference, led by the United States, saw more than 630 delegates, including representatives from Australia, New Zealand, Japan and several Pacific island nations.
