US Democrats show distress over military operation leading to Venezuelan President Maduro’s capture

US democrats, several media outlets from home and abroad showed their distress over the U.S. military operation that led to the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.

Some media outlets called into question the legality of the US’s action. Meanwhile, hundreds of people took to the streets in major US cities, including Washington, Boston, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Chicago and Miami yesterday.

Protesters gathered in Times Square, waving signs that read “Hands off Venezuela,” “U.S. out of Caribbean,” and “No war for Venezuelan oil.”

Protesters said the operation to remove Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro was an act of imperialism. They said Americans did not support the action and that it was carried out without the required approval from the US Congress.
