The Anti-Terror Squad of the Uttar Pradesh police has arrested a student of BDS 2nd year for his alleged link with ISIS. The press release of ATS says that the agency had information that some people in other states of India, including Uttar Pradesh, are active as members of the terrorist module of the banned terrorist organisation, ISIS, with the aim of establishing a Shariah-based caliphate system in the entire world, including India.
After a detailed investigation, they arrested one Harish Ali from Moradabad, who is a resident of Saharanpur district and a student of BDS. The release says that during the investigation, it was confirmed that the accused wanted to bring Sharia law under the Caliphate system by overthrowing the democratically elected government in the country in association with the leaders of his ISIS module and his other mujahid companions of ISIS.
Harish had created ISIS-supported groups using pseudonyms on various social media platforms like Instagram and other encrypted apps and was recruiting people for ISIS. Harish also formed his own separate group, “Al-Ittihad Media Foundation”, to carry out ISIS’s terror agenda in India in a bigger and stronger manner. Harish had a network with other ISIS handlers in India as well as in Pakistan and abroad.
