Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has asserted that Viksit Bharat-G RAM G Act, 2025, is poised to be a landmark in the country’s rural development landscape and it will form the foundation of a developed India.
Addressing a special press conference after the first cabinet meeting of 2026 in Lok Bhavan, Lucknow, Yogi Adityanath hailed the decision ofthe Central Government and said that it is a significant act passed to ensure a transparent process, create employment opportunities, provide guarantees, and build permanent assets in rural areas, thereby increasing rural infrastructure.
Underlining the rampant corruption in the previous MGNREGA scheme, Yogi Adityanath said, this new act was important because the MGNREGA had many loopholes. Mentioning the scope of employment generation and timely payment in the new act, he said that in the new scheme, job guarantees have been raised from 100 days to 125 days, and salaries would be paid weekly.
