Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Jual Oram has reiterated the government’s commitment towards empowering tribal communities through quality education. Addressing the 8th Foundation Day of the National Education Society for Tribal Students in New Delhi, the Minister said, the Eklavya Model Residential Schools initiative is the turning point for the tribal community’s development. He said these institutions are playing a crucial role in providing holistic education to tribal children, especially in remote and underserved areas.
Mr Oram also mentioned the modern facilities being provided in Eklavya schools, including well-equipped classrooms, digital learning tools, sports infrastructure, and residential amenities aimed at ensuring the overall development of students. He noted that special focus is being laid on skill development, cultural preservation, and academic excellence.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Durgadas Uikay said various schemes, ranging from education to other areas, are active for the comprehensive development of the tribal society under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
