Union Ministry of Commerce & Industry approves transfer of 385 acres of salt land to Andhra Pradesh govt

The Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry has approved the transfer of 385 acres of salt land to the Andhra Pradesh government for developing key infrastructure for the Mulapeta Port project in Srikakulam district. Announcing the development, Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu said the approval will facilitate the construction of essential road and rail connectivity to the port. He noted that such connectivity is critical for the port’s efficient functioning and long-term viability.
 
The Union Minister expressed his appreciation to Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for enabling the decision. He said the move reflects coordinated efforts between the Centre and the state to strengthen infrastructure in the region.
 
Mulapeta Port, being developed in north coastal Andhra Pradesh, is expected to play an important role in enhancing trade and logistics once completed.
