Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has extended greetings to the people of the country on the occasion of 79th Independence Day.
In a social media post, Mr Singh said that this day is not just a celebration of country’s freedom but a sacred remembrance of the courage, sacrifice and supreme selflessness of countless heroes who gave us the honour of a free India.
He urged the people to take inspiration from their ideals and work together to build a secure, strong and prosperous ‘Viksit Bharat’.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also extended his greetings to all the countrymen and saluted the freedom fighters who sacrificed in the freedom movement of the country.
In a social media post, Mr Shah also saluted the brave soldiers who work day and night for the unity, integrity and pride of the country.
He appealed to the people to come together and fulfill the dreams of the immortal martyrs of the freedom struggle and take a pledge to contribute in building a developed, self-reliant India in every field.
Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw also extended his best wishes on the occasion of Independence Day.
