Union Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Virendra Kumar, today, said that the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities is making every effort for the education and skill development of disabled children in the country. Speaking at an event in New Delhi to mark Sign Language Day, Dr Kumar said that the Department is working to support the learning of disabled students. He further added that the Indian Sign Language Research and Training Centre has launched an initiative in which over 2,300 educational sign language videos have been developed to help disabled students in their academic journey. On the occasion, the Minister launched multiple initiatives to boost sign language learning in the country.
