Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Rajiv Ranjan Singh has emphasized that development and progress across all sectors and in all states is crucial to make India a developed nation. Replying to supplementaries during the Question Hour in the Lok Sabha today, Mr Singh said, the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) has brought revolution in the fisheries sector. He said, it is unfortunate that the West Bengal government is not spending the amount released under the scheme by the Centre. The Minister said, out of the proposed 221 crore rupees, 114 crore rupees has already been released by the Centre but the state government has spent just 58 crore rupees. He said, for the success of any scheme, the cooperation of the state government is very important.
