Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal has held talks with the Israeli delegation in New Delhi on the India-Israel free trade agreement. In a social media post, Mr Goyal said that he had a productive interaction with the Israeli team, reflecting their shared commitment to deepening economic engagement. Mr Goyal added that it is encouraging to see both sides working closely to unlock new opportunities in trade, innovation and growth, as well as further strengthen the valued partnership between the two countries.
Mr Goyal said that as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is meeting with his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu, their shared vision is steadily translating into action, with the Israeli delegation in New Delhi advancing the India-Israel Free Trade Agreement negotiations.
Mr Goyal stated this in response to a social media post by Israeli Minister of Economy and Industry Nir Barkat, who said that a delegation led by the Foreign Trade Administration at the Ministry of Economy and Industry has arrived in India to launch negotiations for a Free Trade Agreement between the two nations.
He also hailed the strategic relationship between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu, saying that both countries are on the way to a breakthrough that creates great new opportunities and will serve as a powerful growth engine for the economies of Israel and India.
