Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, today called the 16th India-EU Summit historic. In a social media post, Mr Goyal said that this summit will be remembered as the event where the world’s fourth and second largest economies joined hands to script a new chapter in global trade. He added that India and the European Union’s Free Trade Agreement marks a significant milestone in the country’s economic engagement. The Minister further said that the agreement will unlock opportunities across sectors and will benefit businesses and people, contributing to the growth and prosperity of both nations.
