Union Minister Nitin Gadkari calls for mass water conservation movement in Vidarbha region

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has said that water conservation must become a mass movement to make Vidarbha free from farmer suicides and to ensure water-rich villages across the region.
 
Mr Gadkari was addressing a press conference in Nagpur regarding the silver jubilee celebrations of the Poorti Sinchan Samruddhi Kalyankari Sanstha, which has been working in the field of water conservation in Vidarbha region.
 
 
The Sanstha has organised a two-day national conference in Nagpur from 17th of this month to mark its silver jubilee celebrations which will focus on water conservation as a solution for a farmer suicide-free Vidarbha. The ‘Jal Samvad’ will take place on 17th of May and ‘Jalkranti Parishad’ on 18th of this month . 
 
 
On 18th of May, the “Jalkranti Parishad” at Suresh Bhat Hall in Reshimbagh will review the organisation’s 25-year journey and discuss successful water conservation models, including the “Tamaswada Pattern”.
 
 
Prominent personalities including Aamir Khan, Nana Patekar and Makarand Anaspure are expected to attend the event. Several books on water conservation and agricultural welfare are also scheduled to be released during the event.
