Union Minister Murlidhar Mohol addresses 31st Annual Convocation Ceremony of the PGDM-ABM 2023-25

Union Minister of State for Cooperation and Civil Aviation, Murlidhar Mohol, today urged students to work professionally in the cooperative sector to realise Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Prosperity through Cooperation.

He was speaking at the 31st Annual Convocation Ceremony of the PGDM-ABM 2023-25 batch at the Vaikunth Mehta National Institute of Cooperative Management in Pune.

Mohol said that while working in the cooperative sector, it is essential not to rely solely on experience, but to adopt professional management practices and modern technology, which are the need of the hour.

He noted that agriculture and the cooperative sector form the backbone of the Indian economy, and emphasised the importance of integrating technology and modern management skills into these sectors.

He expressed hope that students would not merely become job seekers but emerge as job creators through cooperative institutions. He also stressed that increasing farmers’ income requires value addition through the processing of agricultural produce and direct linkage to markets.

The Minister further called for the adoption of digital technology to bring transparency and improve efficiency in the cooperative sector.
