Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, Mansukh Mandaviya, has called upon the youth of the country to take a decisive leadership role in the mission to build a ‘Viksit Bharat’. He attended the state-level MY Bharat Youth Volunteer Conference in Kolkata today.
The Minister emphasised that while the country’s 140 crore citizens would collectively drive this progress, today’s youth – who would be the primary residents of a developed India – must spearhead the construction of that future.
To facilitate this vision, Minister Mandaviya announced an initiative to identify and nurture 100,000 young leaders across the country. He said that these leaders would not be drawn from political dynasties, but rather from ordinary families in the country’s most remote areas, specifically targeting those with innate leadership potential and a drive for social impact.
The Minister highlighted that the MY Bharat platform, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, already serves as a foundation for this development, with over two crore youth registered and actively participating in various nation-building activities. He urged the youth to utilise these resources to refine their skills and prepare for the responsibilities of future leadership.
