Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh met with Uganda’s President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni at the 19th Mid-Term Ministerial meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) on Palestine in Kampala, today. Both leaders discussed ways to enhance the traditional and multifaceted partnership between the two nations. Mr Singh underscored New Delhi’s commitment to contributing towards a peaceful and stable West Asia, reiterating the country’s longstanding stance for a negotiated two-State solution.

The Minister also held a meeting with Mali’s Foreign Minister Abdoulaye Diop and with Somalian State Minister for Foreign Affairs Ali Mohamed Omar on the sidelines of the meeting. The NAM Ministerial Committee on Palestine was established under India’s Chairmanship of NAM in 1983. Uganda is the Chair of NAM for the period 2024-26.
