Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh concluded his two-day visit to Chile today. During the visit, Mr Vardhan held a bilateral meeting with the President of Chile, Jose Antonio Kast Rist, and also interacted with outgoing President Gabriel Boric Font. The visit further strengthened the longstanding relations between the two nations and reaffirmed the country’s commitment to advancing cooperation.
The Ministry of External Affairs informed that during the meetings, both sides agreed to further strengthen cooperation in key areas, including trade, investment, health and pharmaceuticals, education, space, agriculture and people-to-people exchanges, among others. They also agreed to diversify bilateral ties in new and emerging areas of contemporary relevance, such as Digital Public Infrastructure, innovation and green energy. The two sides also expressed satisfaction at the progress in the ongoing negotiations for a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between the two countries.
