Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said that Delhi Police has arrested the accused who allegedly insulted three women of Arunachal Pradesh in New Delhi.
Talking to the media this morning, Mr Rijiju said that stringent action will be taken as per the law.
He added that the government has ensured that if anyone misbehaves with the people of the North-East, strong action will be taken against them.
Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has condemned the alleged misbehaviour with three women from Arunachal Pradesh in Delhi’s Malviya Nagar area.
In a message posted on social media, Mrs Gupta said that the police is taking strict action against the accused.
She asserted that any act of insult or discrimination against people from the Northeast will not be tolerated in the National Capital. She further stated that strict action will be taken against anyone found involved in such acts.
