Union Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu visits diarrhoea-affected areas in Srikakulam town, Andhra Pradesh

Union Minister for Civil Aviation K. Ram Mohan Naidu today visited diarrhoea-affected areas in Srikakulam town, Andhra Pradesh and assured residents that the government would extend full support to affected families. The Union Minister, accompanied by local MLA Gondu Shankar and District Collector Swapna L Dinakar Pundkar, inspected the worst-hit localities, interacted with residents and reviewed the situation on the ground.

The Union Minister directed the Collector to intensify preventive measures across all 50 divisions under the Srikakulam Municipal Corporation limits and emphasised the need for comprehensive house-to-house surveys to prevent the outbreak of communicable diseases. Mr. Naidu said the district administration had taken timely steps to contain the spread of the disease.

Reassuring the public, the Minister said there was no cause for panic as the situation was gradually coming under control. He added that around 40 more patients were likely to be discharged by this evening. According to officials, 82 patients are currently undergoing treatment in various hospitals in the town, while 50 medical teams are conducting door-to-door surveys and providing necessary medical assistance. Residents expressed satisfaction over the measures taken by the authorities in the affected areas.
