Union Minister of Communications and Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), Jyotiraditya Scindia, called on Vice-President C P Radhakrishnan at Parliament House today. During the meeting, the Vice-President was briefed on key initiatives and future plans of the Ministry of Communications and the Ministry of DoNER.

 

 

In a social media post, the Vice President said that he was apprised of the expanding telecom and internet infrastructure across the country, and the Government’s efforts to ensure last-mile connectivity and provide data at the most affordable rate.

 

 

He was also briefed on the vast postal network and the Ministry’s initiatives to leverage its resources through innovative projects, including India Post Payments Bank. Mr Radhakrishnan also lauded the revival of BSNL, the new initiatives of the Postal Department, and the efficient functioning of the Speed Post system.

 

 

Besides, the Vice President also expressed happiness over the rapid pace of development in the North-Eastern Region, the creation of new opportunities, and the improvement in the overall security situation.
