Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Jagat Prakash Nadda attended the 111th birth anniversary celebration of Thakur Ram Singh at the Thakur Ram Singh Institute of Historical Research in Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh.
Addressing the gathering, Mr Nadda said, Thakur Ram Singh made remarkable contributions in the field of compiling Indian history and was, in the true sense, a great ascetic. Nadda stated that respect for history forms the foundation of a nation’s strength. He said that, while ruling India, foreign powers distorted the country’s history and presented it in a misleading manner to the world, which is why people could not get correct information about India’s past.
Mr Nadda said that at the age of 88, Thakur Ram Singh undertook the task of rewriting Indian history to convey the truth to future generations, and that this work is now progressing more effectively.
He further said that under the National Education Policy 2020, efforts have begun to present Indian history and all related information correctly, so that the country can free itself from a foreign mindset.
