Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Dr. Ramdas Athawale, has said that the government has worked for the overall development of all sections of society, including Divyangjan, senior citizens, Scheduled Castes, and Scheduled Tribes in the last eleven years. Dr. Athawale was in Panaji today for inauguration of the Purple Festival, which celebrates inclusivity and empowerment of Divyangjan. 

Dr. Athawale said that the present government is focused on timely completion of infrastructure projects to avoid cost escalation. Referring to the Mumbai-Goa highway and other long-pending projects, he assured that all projects will be completed soon.
