Govt has given an additional Rs 1500 crore to upgrade textile industry: Union Minister Giriraj Singh

Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh said that the government has given an additional 1.5 thousand crore rupees to upgrade the textile industry. Due to this, the export of the textile industry in the world has reached 800 billion dollars today. He was speaking at the Global Tech-Textile Conclave at the Technical Institute of Textile and Sciences, Bhiwani.

He said that India imports 250 tonnes of glass fibre from abroad, which will now be manufactured in the country. This type of special fabric will also be used in the construction of buildings, aeroplanes, wind turbines and light cars in the coming time. It will also be lighter and cheaper than iron. Experts from the textile sector from 14 countries around the world are participating in the conference.
