Union Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat inaugurated the meeting of the South And West Asian Regional Branch of the International Council of Archives (SWARBICA) in New Delhi today.
Addressing the gathering, Mr Shekhawat underlined that this is the second meeting of SWARBICA that is taking place in India. He also called on the participating countries to exchange their shared heritage and insights through archives in the two-day meeting. Mr Shekhawat emphasised that the government has been working towards the digitalisation of archives and the meeting will help the participating nations.
Members of SWARBICA including Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Bhutan among others participated in the meeting.
