Union Minister G Kishan Reddy Urges Public Not to Believe Rumours on Fuel Supply

Union Minister for Coal and Mines Kishan Reddy clarified that consumers should not believe the rumours circulating about diesel and petrol supply in the state, and that stocks are available as per requirements in Telangana. The Union Minister held a review meeting here today at Dilkusha with representatives of oil marketing companies on the supply and availability of petrol, diesel, and gas.

Speaking to the media after the meeting, he said that statements being made by some opposition leaders in social media are leading to this situation. The Minister stated that delays by dealers in paying dues to the companies and failure to send indents on time have also been identified as causes for some uncertainty, and that instructions have been issued to oil companies to rectify the situation.

Kishan Reddy said that even though oil prices have increased globally, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has not allowed the burden to fall on the people. He advised that it is not safe for the public to stockpile petrol and diesel at home this summer. Kishan Reddy urged the State Government’s Chief Secretary and DGP to take action against those spreading false propaganda on social media.
