Union Sports Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya today reviewed India’s preparations for the Asian Games 2026. This year’s games will be held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, from September 19 to October 4. Chairing a high-level meeting in New Delhi, Dr Mandaviya informed that over 700 Indian athletes are expected to compete across more than forty sports disciplines at this year’s games. The Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to athlete welfare and performance. He said that every possible support, from training and sports science to logistics, kit support, food support and medical care, will be provided so that the athletes can prepare without distractions and deliver their best at the games. The Minister also emphasised the need for coordinated efforts among all stakeholders, stating that structured preparation, strong support systems and timely planning will play a crucial role in helping the nation achieve new milestones at the games.
