Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Minister, Dr Jitendra Singh, today called for a more citizen-centric approach while dealing with pension grievances.
The Minister said this while chairing the 14th All India Pension Adalat in New Delhi. During the event, the Minister said the onus of solving pensioners’ problems and meeting their needs should be on the concerned departments and not the pensioners, especially if they are differently abled.
He directed the departments present at the Pension Adalat to take feedback even after grievance redressal to ensure such issues are not repeated. He also suggested using AI-driven tools to verify facts and documents, which can ensure swift redressal, save time and conserve manpower.
The Minister highlighted that the adoption of technology in the past 11 years has cut down on redressal time and prevented pension delay.
Eight hundred ninety-four grievances related to family pension matters of 21 Departments and Ministries are listed to be presented at the 14th Pension Adalat today.
