Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh accuses Congress of blocking Nari Shakti Vandan Act

Union Minister of State for Science and Technology Jitendra Singh today said that the Congress and its allied parties obstructed the Nari Shakti Vandan Act due to political interests.

Addressing a press conference in Shimla, Dr Singh said, although the Congress has spoken about women’s reservation for the past 50 years, it never had the political will to implement it. He further alleged that in the Congress, women are given opportunities based on family lineage rather than merit, whereas in the BJP, women are promoted based on merit. He said the Bill reflects the BJP’s ideology and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision and accused the Congress of betraying women by attempting to block it.

Dr Singh said women across the country are aware of the issue and said it could develop into a major public movement. He added that women are now conscious of their rights and will not accept political deception. He also highlighted government initiatives such as the Swachh Bharat Mission and the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, saying they have significantly improved women’s lives.
