Union Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today held discussions with Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on various aspects of agriculture and rural development ahead of the Union Budget 2026-27 in New Delhi. Mr Chouhan informed that the compiled ideas and suggestions received from the discussions with progressive farmers, agricultural experts, self-help groups, cooperative societies and rural industries have been submitted to the Finance Minister. He expressed confidence that the budget for the financial year 2026-27 will prove to be a milestone in realising Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Prosperous Farmers, Empowered Villages.
