Union Minister of Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw will inaugurate the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) Digital University (NDU) Platform in New Delhi today. The platform is designed to democratize access to high-quality digital education. On the occasion, the Minister will also virtually inaugurate five new NIELIT Centres at Muzaffarpur in Bihar, Balasore in Odisha, Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh, Lunglei in Mizoram and Daman. In a statement, the Ministry of Electronics and IT informed that the event will feature a Panel Discussion on the Role of AI in Digitisation of Education, along with the Felicitation Ceremony, where top-performing students will be felicitated.
A Memorandum of Understanding with leading industry partners to strengthen industry-academia collaboration will also be inked during the event. NIELIT is an Autonomous Scientific Society of the Ministry and has been a pioneer in skill development and digital empowerment. Digital University aims to equip youth with programs in niche technologies like AI, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Semiconductors and allied fields.
