Union Minister Amit Shah says Government focused on strengthening Agriculture and Rural Development

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah has said that the government has emphasised strengthening agriculture and rural development. Addressing the Mega Cooperative Conference organised by KRIBHCO in Panchkula today, he said, the agriculture budget has been increased to one lakh 27,000 crore rupees in recent years. 
 
The Minister said that the government is working in the interest of livestock farmers, as agriculture and animal husbandry provide employment to many people. He said that employment has been provided to 1.25 crore people by linking these sectors with cooperatives. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has provided a new platform by forming the Ministry of Cooperation. 
 
Mr. Amit Shah said that byelaws for Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) were enacted, and 30 new dimensions were added to PACS, which strengthened the cooperative movement. The Minister said thatthe  India Cooperative Taxi will be launched by the Ministry of Cooperation. The profit from the taxi will go to the driver, and it will be India’s number one taxi service. 
 
Mr. Shah said that the Modi government has worked to increase farmers’ income. While praising Chief Minister Nayab Saini, the Minister said that Haryana is the first state to purchase 24 crops at Minimum Support Price (MSP), and farmers receive payment for their crops within 48 hours of purchase.
 
He said that the Haryana government is working for the prosperity of farmers. He also praised the strong athletes of Haryana and the soldiers serving in the army and various armed forces.
