Union Minister Amit Shah Launches 5th Rajbhasha Sammelan in Gujarat On Hindi Diwas

Hindi Diwas is being celebrated across the country today. It was on this day in 1949 that the Constituent Assembly adopted Hindi written in Devanagari script as the official language of the country. Today, Hindi is one of the widely spoken languages in the world and the first language of more than 520 million people.

 

 

On the occasion, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the fifth Akhil Bharatiya Rajbhasha Sammelan at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, today. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel will also be present on the occasion.

 

 

More than 7,000 officials from various departments of the Central Government will participate in the two-day Sammelan. Various sessions, including a special session on Operation Sindoor, will be held during the Sammelan. Secretary, Department of Official Languages, Anshuli Arya,  said that the aim of the two-day Sammelan is to increase harmony and integration between Hindi and other Indian languages. She said several initiatives, including a multilingual translation tool called Bharati, will also be launched at the Sammelan.
