Union Minister Amit Shah arrives in Assam on two-day visit to campaign for BJP

Union Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah arrived in Assam this afternoon on a two-day visit to campaign for Bharatiya Janata Party and other NDA candidates ahead of the Assembly elections. Addressing a poll rally in the Kaliabor constituency of Nagaon district, in support of AGP candidate Kesab Mahanta, the Union Minister said that the BJP is against the infiltrators but not against the original Muslim inhabitants of Assam. The Home Minister criticised the Congress party for neglecting Assam during its tenure and informed that the BJP-led NDA government allotted over 178,000 crores to Assam during the last 10 years.
