Union Minister Amit Shah addresses workers’ conference in Barrackpore, West Bengal

Senior BJP leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah has alleged that the West Bengal government is threatening the Matua and Namasudra communities. Addressing a workers’ conference at Anandpuri playground in Barrackpore in North 24 Parganas, he said that the Matua and Namasudra communities have no reason to be afraid. He stated that no matter how much the state government opposes the SIR process, it will continue in the state. He alleged that due to the state government’s non-cooperation, the fencing could not be erected in the border area of the state.

Demanding an impartial investigation into the warehouse fire at Nazirabad, where 27 people were charred to death in Narendrapur in South 24 Parganas, Shri Shah said that this incident is the result of corruption by the ruling party. He accused the Chief Minister of engaging in vote-bank politics even over these deaths. He further alleged that people close to the ruling party are involved in the incident, which is why the owner of the Momo company has not yet been arrested.
