Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, participated in a special edition of the Fit India Sundays on Cycle initiative, titled ‘Cycling with Teachers’, at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi, this morning. Addressing the event, the minister said that teachers are the heroes for the students and now have to potentially become heroes for Viksit Bharat, as they have the capability to make cycling a fashion. He urged all teachers to restart using cycles themselves and ask students to emulate the same. Dr Mandaviya added that this will ensure the mission of ‘Fight Against Obesity’ and the vision of Fit India and Viksit Bharat, which Prime Minister Narendra Modi had laid down’.

The nationwide cycling drive kicked off in December last year and has seen over two lakh participants of myriad ages across 5 thousand locations in the country.
