Senior BJP leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah today celebrated Pongal with party workers at Tiruchirapalli in Tamil Nadu. The cultural event was organised by the State BJP unit titled Namma Ooru Modi Pongal, in which thousands of women participated. The Home Minister was given a Poorna Kumbh honour at the event. The Home Minister paid obeisance to the Sun and visited the Sri Ranganatha Temple and the Akilandeswari Amman Temple at Trichy this morning.
