Union Home Minister Amit Shah today paid tribute to Jagjivan Ram on his birth anniversary. In a social media post, Mr Shah highlighted the significant contributions made by the former Deputy Prime Minister of India to the freedom struggle and remembered him for firmly confronting divisive forces while opposing religious conversion.
Describing Jagjivan Ram as a pioneer of social justice, the Home Minister said that the struggle of the eminent leader for the rights of weaker and deprived sections of society will continue to inspire generations.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also paid tribute via a social media post. Mr Singh said social justice and the defence of the country were the highest priorities of his life. The Defence Minister added that the contribution of Babu Jagjivan Ram to the nation’s development and its protection will always be remembered.
